The Stress-Less Daily Assessment Checklist

1. Did I take the time to become clear on the nature and core reason why a certain situation threatens to stress me today?

2. Did I strengthen my spiritual foundation by connecting with God through prayer, Bible reading, and meditation?

3. Did I sleep at least seven to eight hours the night before?

4. Did I avoid foods that provided no nourishment?

5. Did I engage in a physical activity for at least 20 to 30 minutes?

6. Did my actions align with my core values relative to God, family, etc.?

7. Did I schedule my day to include only a few versus numerous major tasks?

8. Did I spend within my budget?

9. Did I resist the temptation to do wrong in any way?

10. Did I make an effort to enjoy today rather than focusing totally on the future?

11. Did I say no to a request that would have distracted me from my goal or purpose?

12. Did I exhibit flexibility, even though I wanted things done my way?

13. Did I delegate a task rather than doing it myself?

14. Did I evaluate my expectations when someone frustrated me?

15. Did I attempt to resolve conflict today by running away, exploding, or handling it God’s way?

16. Did I make a decision to forgive and to release the past?

17. Did I take appropriate breaks today? Do I have plans for a short or extended vacation to occur over the next few months?

18. Did I admit a mistake rather than rationalizing my behavior?

19. Did I ask for what I wanted?

20. Did I avoid or limit contact with a stress-producing person?

21. Did I create a peaceful atmosphere at home, work, and in my car?

22. Did I release tension by deep breathing, singing, or other God-honoring techniques?

23. Did I laugh several times throughout the day?

24. Did I consciously slow the pace at which I walked or talked?

25. Did I encourage or check on someone within my support system?

26. Did I avoid using “stress-speak” or terms that indicate rushing?

27. Did I remember to thank God for a disappointment He allowed?

28. Did I guard against self-sabotaging behavior that threatened my peace?

29. Did I emotionally relinquish a situation that was outside of my sphere of influence?

30. Did I maintain a positive outlook when faced with a negative situation?
