In the last article we addressed some of the obstacles that may result in not living the life God has for you. Now that you have addressed those and have experienced some success, how can you continue? Sometimes we have a good routine going and we are sidetracked either by our own ’stubborn resistance’ or we can come up with some really good excuses. The reality is that it only hurts us! Even if you have a valid excuse, there is still something you can do towards living the weightless life. Weightlessness is not being defined by what you weigh!
Some reasons we may come up with are:
- A change in your daily schedule, leaving less time for exercise
- Your exercise program becomes boring
- You don’t meet your weight loss goal
- You’re disappointed with your progress
- You become sick or injured and stop exercising
Commitment is such and important part of a weightless life. Our stubborn resistance thinking isĀ ‘it will be easy’ or ‘I won’t have to do this forever.’ Let’s change the thinking to ‘it might be a challenge’ or ‘I am making a lifestyle change.’ Your life is not limited to a six week diet! There are great excuses but isn’t it better when someone says ‘how do you stay so fit?’
Make regular exercise and healthy eating part of your daily routine. It’s just like our spiritual life, when we only relate to God on Sunday, it seems too hard, that He’s distant.
The reality is we are distant! Keep this in mind, we have 4 areas in our life that need addressing daily:
mental (organization, learning),
emotional (relationships, feelings),
spiritual (reading scripture, prayer, and fellowship), and
physical (eating, sleeping, and exercise).
Like tires on a car they need to be balanced and checked regularly to ensure a good ride! Today, do one thing different to start on the road to your blessed life!
